It's very rare for this to happened but it did...
A week ago today, Havana waked up to a different scene. The unexpected happened. A tornado devastated several neighborhoods in the capital and many lost everything they had. I had just returned from Cuba on Saturday, January 26th and when the news broke on Monday morning, I was extremely scared because, I didn't know how far the tornado went. Thank God that my family was ok and just lost power in their neighborhood but I'm heartbroken for those who lost everything.
Four people died and 174 injured and now they are depending on the government, neighbors and people abroad to help them rebuild their lives. Since I can't get financial donations via Facebook for Tornado disaster relief... I've partnered with the non-profit organization IFCO/Pastors for Peace to collect the donations. They travel all the time to Cuba on mission trips and through the church, they are able to provide the much-needed help to those affected by the tornado. They need everything but it's easier to donate money and the church can buy the items for them in Cuba. Your gift aids the rebuilding of Havana from the tornado damage, through the Cuban Council of Churches and the MLK Center in Havana.

It's wave season you all!
It's Official! Now we can offer cruises to Cuba or wherever you'd like to sail. In one of my previews newsletters I shared with you the news about joining a Host Agency to be able to provide you with all the things you need for your trip. One of the perks is access to the cruise lines. Of course, I have my favorite sails... you guessed; Cuba! Keep an eye on your inbox for promotions and itineraries because it's wave season and you don't want to miss out!
One of the things I love is visiting my old hometown of Santiago de Cuba and getting to meet the business owner with whom I'm doing business with. I had used the Hostal Girasol for a few of my fellow travelers when visiting Santiago but didn't have the chance to go see it for myself. This time I did and oh boy, I was so impressed with their home. First of, they have arrange two rooms in the first floor of the house for people with special needs or wheelchair. They are thinking ahead and making sure they can host everyone. Each room has a different decor and it's own private bathroom and on the top floor a nice terrace overlooking the city with a restaurant and a bar. They are literally in the center of the city so you'll be close to everything.
I'm very excited for the next tour which leaves on March 8th. Are you planning on joining us soon? Give us a call and we'll arrange everything for you! (615) 412-9615
