Café con Leche Condensada
Did you know that after kids turn seven years old in Cuba, the government does not provide milk for kids anymore? Yes, it's the harsh reality parents face, but there is always Leche Condensada or Leche en Polvo (powder milk) to substitute. I remember when I was a kid, my grandma would make me Café con Leche every morning before I went to school. She was so good at making it, and it was so delicious.

The other day I was giving a ride to someone, (yes, I do Lyft now and then), and I had a lovely conversation with the ladies in my car that turned out to be of latina descent. One of Mexican descent and the other one of Cuban descent and she had been to Cuba very recently. During our conversation, she was talking about how much she loved Café con Leche and that she had tried many times to make it and that it wouldn't come out right. I said to her what were the ingredients and the amount of each and she was over the moon about it. I'm sure that she is enjoying a cup every morning now.

Some people enjoy a Cortadito which is very different from a Café con Leche but whichever you choose to drink, you'll love it and would like to have more of it every day. Just in case you'd like to make it at home, here is the recipe. Enjoy ;-)

Café con Leche
Condense Milk, Hot water, salt, and hot water: Mix 3 tablespoons of condensed milk into a cup (8 ounces) of hot water and mix well until milk is completely dissolved. Ad a pinch of salt, then two ounces of coffee. Ad a pinch of cinnamon if desired and enjoyed with a toast.

Expanding my Horizons

I have joined Travel Planners International As you may remember, last year I got my certification as a home-based travel advisor and was looking to join a host agency for travel agents. I was looking into expanding my horizons into the travel business, and TPI has the tools for me to do so. TPI just turned 30 years old they’re all about the individual — with everything they do, every program they create, they celebrate the travel entrepreneur. Maintaining my brand, my identity and helping my business THRIVE is their obsession!

What does that mean for you? Well, my tour packages do not include airfare, but I now have access to a search engine where I can book your flight to Cuba. Also, I will be able to book you a cruise to Cuba instead of a tour and any other places you'd like to go. Just let me know where you'd want to go or what are your travel needs, and we'll be able to plan your getaway for you! You can find my contact information on the TPI consumer website here: Find an Agent.
